Mr. Colby McMillen
5th & 6th Grade
Colby grew up on his family’s beef cattle farm in Perry County. He graduated from Heritage Christian School in 2013, followed by West Perry High School in 2017. Following this, he attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, receiving his degree in Bible and Applied Linguistics with an interdisciplinary in the Biblical Languages. Besides the family’s beef cattle farm and equipment servicing business, he has enjoyed working for a catering company, Uber Eats, OBI seafoods, and a ranch in Montana, amongst others. He has had the distinct privilege of serving in various ministries as well- the longest of them including service at a homeless shelter, teaching English to speakers of other languages in Chinatown, Chicago, evangelism/Bible studies at the Cook County juvenile prisons, discipling younger men, and teaching Sunday School- all for the purpose of building up Christ’s most glorious bride, the church. Colby is a member at Church of the Living Christ of Loysville and has been teaching for one and a half years at HCS. He is dedicated to the greatest goal mankind could ever have- to worship and obey the Lord. Thus, he desires to give the students which he has been entrusted, the opportunity to do the same in increasing measure, in every subject and situation. As the Lord is the only true teacher, prayer for each student is a crucial and consistent part of his daily schedule, alongside a desire to know the students personally, guiding them to the endless fount, which is Christ.
